Why dont .wav files play without downloading

The short answer is HTML 5. The player is added to the right hand-side of your audio file. Click Play to listen to the audio, and click the volume control button to change the volume of the audio.

The file itself is not downloaded to your local drive and simply buffers as it plays much like playing any video online. If you want to save it locally, you will have to click the Download option.

If you experience any glitches in the playback, it is likely to do with your internet connection. Please ask a new question if you need help. Thank you philipp. I just spent about two hours trying to figure this out, checking all of my settings, uninstalling player software that I thought might be trying to take over, etc.

I even did a system restore trying to fix this. Sure would be nice if a feature like this were listed in the settings options, or if a person were asked if they wanted this before it just took over their settings.

Maybe that suggestion can be passed along to the right people. Download the Recoverit to your computer. Follow the wizard for installation. Select the drive where you previously saved your WAV files.

Now you can preview all the deleted files. Select the WAV files that you want to recover and press "Recover". Open the recycle bin and look for deleted WAV files. If you find your files here right-click the file and press restore. The WAV files will be restored at its original destination.
